Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

Table of Contents

For the speed demons amongst us, we’ve searched high and low for the e-bikes offering the rawest power on the market.

E-bikes come in all shapes and sizes, and there are rides for all sorts of different riding styles, but there is only one thing that matters in this roundup – speed.

Here listed in this review are all thoroughbred stallions and simply fly.

So, if you candle a wild ride, join us as we list here top fastest e-bikes the world has to offer.

What Makes These E-Bikes Stand Out in 2024?

The fastest electric bikes of 2024 are pushing boundaries, not just in terms of speed but also in their use of advanced technology and high-quality materials. These bikes feature powerful motors, long-lasting batteries, and lightweight, durable frames. Additionally, many models come with smart features such as GPS tracking, anti-theft systems, and customizable riding modes, ensuring that riders get the best performance for their needs.

The focus on speed doesn’t mean sacrificing safety, either. Many of the fastest e-bikes are equipped with high-performance braking systems, suspension for smooth rides, and enhanced stability for high-speed cruising. Whether you’re speeding through city streets or navigating challenging trails, these bikes offer a balance of thrill and security.

Before we get fully stuck in it’s important to understand the laws.

There are top speed regulations for electric bikes in many different nations and you may not be able to ride some of these bikes in the country you live.

In the UK, EU, Australia and New Zealand the maximum speed limit for an electric bike is 25km/h.

In the United States it is different and also varies depending on the state you are in. 39 states have a 3-class system for e-bikes:

  • Class 1 has a top speed of 32km/h and has a pedal-assisted motor
  • Class 2 is an electric bike that has a throttle-activated motor and also limits to 32km/h,
  • Class 3 has a 45 km/h limit, and in many states, more safety measures are put in place before riders can be allowed to ride them.

Some states require that you register an e-bike officially with the authorities before you are allowed to legally ride them on the roads – these states include Alabama, Hawaii, Louisiana, Alaska, Massachusetts, New Mexico, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

You can find out more about the specific law in your state by visiting this blog we put together.

Hi Power Cycles Revolution X9

4.5/5
Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

Best and fastest electric bike

Good for – Speed

Price – $18,325

Top speed – 104km/h

Peaks:👍

Troughs:👎

Summary:

The Revolution X9 is possibly one of the fastest electric mountain bike ever made, and it gives an insane top speed of about 104km/h.

The company says they got speeds greater than that, but to reach those extreme heights you are going to need a pretty wide-open expanse and HPC did their test runs on a dried up lake bed.

It’s an astonishing speed, however it doesn’t come cheap and availability is scare.

Weight/Frame

The HPC Revolution X9 has a carbon frame and ultra-sturdy Kevlar side panelling to protect the bike’s key electrical components should you have a spill.

This does not help. Those chunky electrical components, which help achieve the immense top speed, aren’t light and the bike weighs in at 36kg.

That doesn’t make it easy to handle or manipulate and given its crackers top limit, it’s no surprise.

This is not a bike for the twisty sections; this is one to really open up when you have a lot of space.

Battery

The HPC Revolution X9 sports a huge 3,450Wh battery, which involves a custom battery management system, along with a Song-produced VTC6 drain cell.

This monster installation is required in order to meet the demands of the motor, as well as the overall speed capabilities.

But, it does so much more than that, you also have a 160km range.

Motor

Now, this is where the magic happens with this one – it’s an HPC custom component, which has a top output of 9,000Wh – yep you heard that right.

It is well balanced with much more heavy-duty copper features that help it go much higher than most commercial e-bike motors out nowadays. Top torque figure is 246Nm.

There you have the top speed of around 104km/h and makes it the fastest adult electric bike (quite certainly not a kid’s one here).

There are two modes of assistance – one, applied with the class 2 legislation, which tops out at 32 km/h to make it the fastest road-legal electric bike.
But then there’s an off-road mode, made for private property, or places where the bike is legal – which would take it to its mega top speed figure of 120km/h.

Suspension

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024
Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

There’s no cheaping out on suspension with the Revolution X9 either.

A RockShox Boxxer Select fork travels 200mm, making this bike look like it was very clearly aimed at taking some seriously rough terrain on.

The wide travel fork also aids the bike in dealing with the total heavy weight and stress that has been put into it at its very high speed.

At the back end, you get a DVO Jade coil shock – again, a heavy duty component, which can suck up the punishment the bike faces at high speed.

Wheels/Tyres

To cope with the high speeds, the Revolution X9 needs a very durable set of feet.

HPC has considered this and fitted an ultra-strong pair of bespoke wheels, which are covered in a pair of moped tyres – these can withstand the enormous amount of heat which passes through the tyre.
They are heavy, with thick outer casings, which can cope with high levels of speed stress.

Brakes

The Magura MT7e brakes are an upgraded version and come with special rotors measuring 220mm. It is with these that there is enough force to bring the bike to a complete stop.

They do wonders given the nuts speeds the bike can clock, and of course, there’s smartness in how the brakes dissipate the heat.

Final Thoughts

This bike is purely a monster, producing unrivaled speeds.

It is the fastest electric bike that ever crossed our path but it is the one that is the hardest to find.

The fastest electric pedal bike is sold out, and its company HPC hasn’t announced when they might be re-releasing it.

Hallomotor FC-1

2.5/5
Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

Good for – Speed

Price – $4,868

Top speed – 110km/h

Peaks:👍

Troughs:👎

Summary:

There’s simply no denying that the Hallomotor FC-1 is one of the fastest cycles on offer, but it doesn’t exactly hold a candle to the quality of an overall ride experience, or components, HPC versions carry on this list.

You can’t help but question its racing credentials though, as it delivers an impressive top speed of around 110km/h, depending on terrain.

Weight/Frame

It sports a weighty custom steel frame which, although it does supply more than its fair share of support, doesn’t make it a fun bicycle to operate.

It’s really a very heavy beast, weighing at a total of 42kg, which makes it feel clunky and uncomfortable when riding it.

We’re not too fond of the ride as a whole because of that fact.

Battery

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

A 2,880Wh Samsung INR21700-40T battery weighs in behind, a weighty savage that accounts for much of the heavyweight figure.

It isn’t particularly impressive as far as range is concerned, topping out at around 75km.

Rather disappointing to be offered by a size like this and a bike’s weight.

Motor

At least the bike is better served in the motor department, with a 5000Wh custom motor, which offers a pretty good punch.

This length goes a long way in beating the heavy weight of the bike, and it can remarkably get to more than 110km/h.

It’s mighty powerful, but it certainly doesn’t feel smooth in its power output. It feels pretty jerky and uncomfortable to tame in the corners.

Not particularly good if you carry an enormous machine with you.

Suspension

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

Taiwan-DNM-Burner-RCP2S-265mm.jpg

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

Taiwan DNM Triple Crown USD-8S DH

The FC-1 has 180mm of travel in the forks, with a Taiwan DNM Triple Crown downhill model fitted as standard.

Spring Coil Shocks
265mm of travel in the spring coil shocks, which are supplied also by Taiwan DNM.

It’s a chunky set-up designed to cope with the rigors of that unwieldy bike, but it certainly doesn’t offer a great deal of playfulness.

The bike is too heavy for rough and ready terrain.

Wheels/Tyres

The FC-1 boasts a tough set of motorcycle wheels, which are utilized in order to assist in providing enough support to the bike’s chunky frame.

They get the job done but once again feels like a cumbersome part and they feel clunky to be moved around.

You also get a super thick pair of DH tires, which offer a firm bite, but again add extra weight.

Brake

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024
Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

The FC-1 gets its own in-house bespoke hydraulic disc brakes, with massive 203mm rotors.

Not a lot to write home about if we’re honest with ourselves and feel just a mite undergunned compared to the sheer speed the bike can travel at.

That makes for a pretty nervous ride and you never actually feel like you have complete trust in the bike’s ability to stop.

Final Thoughts

The FC-1 is a disappointment.

Yes, it does offer rapid top speed, but it is a naff ride, which feels very heavy, yet does not offer impressive range.

It’s poor to handle, the brakes don’t perform well enough and the suspension figures offer a lot on paper, but the performance is poor.

It’s one of the budget bikes in this sector of the market but not one to jump at the chance at riding in our opinion.

Hi Power Cycles Revolution X

4.4/5
Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

Good for – Speed

Price – $13,695 (most powerful spec option)

Top speed – 96km/h

Peaks:👍

Troughs:👎

Summary:

The Revolution X is the little brother of the fastest electric bike, the Revolution XX, and it’s much more attainable to get your hands on.

It has a top speed of as high as 96km/h, which is still ferociously quick and it comes in a variety of different spec options, ranging in price.

Weight/Frame

The HPC Revolution X comes with a mixed carbon/aluminum frame, to offer extra sturdiness and protection in case of any crash at high speed.

weight depends on the optional extras you go for, with the largest battery and motor options you weigh in at 44kg.

It’s a big, old monster, and that doesn’t make it an easy thing to play around with, however, it’s made to be just a pure speed machine, and it does that perfectly.

Battery

The HPC Revolution X comes in different sizes of batteries.

The 1,290Wh standard model gives a range of about 85km, but two other, larger options exist: the 1,800Wh custom model, which reaches a maximum of up to 120km on one charge, and the biggest – and most expensive – at 2,400Wh to take you up to around 160km.

Largest range option is $2,000 more than the standard model, but it does offer a massive day out on the trails.

Motor

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024
HPC Gearless DC Hub Motor 6000W

However, you can also fine-tune the motor setup for your Revolution X at the purchase point.

Custom motor uses 6000W HPC, but you can choose a 7000Wh model, and the fastest would be an 8000Wh.

The most powerful variant (that we’ve fitted the car under review here) can produce up to 235Nm of torque – just imagine the force involved: enough to propel the driver to near 100km/h.

Suspension

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

DVO Onyx DC Air Fork

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

DVO Jade Rear Shock

The Revolution X is equipped with a heavy-duty suspension set-up that can soak up some rough and ready riding.

Bike Details

It has 200mm of travel in the forks, which are supplied by DVO, with the Onyx DC Air fork, and at the rear end you get a DVO Jade coil spring shock.

This helps the bike to cope with the heavy overall weight, and it does allow you to take on some rough terrain, but it’s not a bike intended for technical riding.

This bike excels on flat and fast, while the top weight figure limits the bike elsewhere.

Wheels/Tyres

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024
Kenda Nevegal Pro 26 x 2.7″

It comes equipped with a bespoke set of strong aluminum wheels, which provide ample support to withstand such high speeds and bear the weight of the bicycle.

These are, in turn, supported by a pair of ultra-durable Kenda Nevegal Pro wheels that boast a 2.7 inch wide tread.

This provides good traction to generate those high speeds and takes the impacts nicely while out spinning.

Wheels/Tyres

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

The Revolution X uses the same matched pair of Magura MT7e brakes as its faster sibling.

They do an outstanding job in bringing this rapidly moving beast to a screeching halt and coming up stumps when you might most need them.

Final Thoughts

It’s another cream of the crop at HPC.
Stock and far, far easier to get your hands on, if you can afford to spend that is
Setup options provide you with all of possibilities for tailoring it to your desires and a huge range and immense power no matter what battery/motor combo you choose.
The top 2 fastest electric pedal bikes belong to HPC.

ℹ️ Be cautious with your assistance use on hazardous technical sections – the bike’s heavyweight, combined with its immense power, could lead to a nasty accident if you aren’t careful or don’t have the strength to cope with it.

Stealth B-52

3/5
Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

Good for – Speed

Price – $12,800

Top speed – 80km/h

Peaks:👍

Troughs:👎

Summary

The Stealth B-52 looks the part – it has a very sleek-looking, all-black design and a burly suspension to take some rough riding.

However, although it looks compact and hits a top speed figure of 80km/h, it’s a weighty beast and isn’t the easiest to play around with.

Weight/Frame

When we say weighty we mean really weighty – it comes in at 50kg which obviously is a problem when trying to experience the ride as a whole.

It doesn’t make it easy to manipulate, and that reduces the fun factor a lot.

It has an aluminum frame, with a super strong exoskeleton around the outside, which is there to help protect the electrical components.

It’s really hard to look past the weight, but although it looks ever so stylish and has some very important safety features in there, it’s hard to get over the weight.

Battery

It comes with a 2,500Wh custom battery. With a decent range of around 80km.

So, with this overall heavy weight we may have expected a little extra in the range department but it still offers a good few hours of fun.

Big pluses include its battery charge time, which juices up from empty to 100% in just 3 hours-only one of the quicker battery charge times out there, which puts you right back out on the trails at pace.

Motor

The B-52 packs a serious punch with its custom 6,200Wh motor, churning the bike to speeds of up to 80km/h.

Definitely spry for a 50kg machine, and it doles out the power intelligently, dropping off and kicking into action without an unnatural jerkiness.

Suspension

The bike also has a chunky suspension set-up, which is needed given how weighty the bike is.

You get 180mm of travel at the front end and 200mm at the rear, with a pair of FastAce forks and a well-designed custom coil shock.

That helps deal with the 50kg you’re hauling along the trails, but also lets you take on some lumps and bumps.

However, the actual trail capabilities aren’t great due to the overall weight.

Wheels/Tyres

It comes with a 27.5-inch wheel set up at both the front and the rear, which have a 2.8-inch tread.

They are customized components, which are ultra-strong and made to be able to handle the stress of high speeds.

Although the durability is very welcome, you feel the extra weight and it takes away from any kind of playfulness.

Brakes

The B-52 also gets a highly tuned pair of Minicross Hydraulic brakes which also get 250mm rotors.

It’s an excellent-looking e-MTB and comes with quite some commendable features – suspension, motor performance, brakes, and design and top speed are all good.

However, a problem the bike has is weight, and though the bike is fast, it is really slow to handle.

It’s really only made for getting out fast in an open area and isn’t one to be a good trail bike.

Delfast Top 3.0i

2/5
Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024

Good for – Speed

Price – $5,999

Top speed – 80km/h

Peaks:👍

Troughs:👎

Summary:

The Delfast Top 3.0i is one of those bargains, huge-range, fast-moving e-bikes with some impressive electrical stats, but it’s not an attractive bike and certainly isn’t for trail riding.

With so much that makes it look more akin to a moped, it would end up being incredibly out of place in amongst the trees and just simply wouldn’t cope.

Weight/Frame

The strongest and one massive negative is the gross weight of the bike – it comes in at 70kg, meaning it cannot ride on anything less than an open and straight forest road.

It has a steel frame, which can explain why it’s so heavy, and the machine looks abysmal.

The handling cannot take anything more than simple cornering, and it is uncomfortable to ride on.

Battery

In contrast, the battery on the bike fares slightly better – thanks to a 3,456Wh custom model which certainly boasts impressive performance figures. The range offered on pan flat terrain in good conditions goes up to an almost unbelievable extent of 320km.
This all changes if things get more hilly, though it’s still an absolutely fantastic top-range figure, and it means you can just bask in riding hour after hour.

This means that it will only take 6 hours to get that big range battery back up to 100% of charge.

Motor

Fastest Electric Bikes of 2024
5000Wh QS 205 V3 motor

It’s also a pacy mover – its 5000Wh QS 205 V3 motor can punch out up to 182Nm of torque, which is an impressive top figure.

Although it has the potential to get up to about 80km/h, the weight does inhibit this at times, particularly if you’re a weightier rider.

It also feels very unnatural in its delivery.

Suspension

Delfast has KKK forks with 203mm of travel and fitted with a DNM coil spring shock.

It is a bike that to imagine without suspension would mean the set-up just barely deals with the weight of the bike, and it’s not one to take on any playfulness.

It feels labored most of the time unless you are opening it up on some long straight road.

Wheels/Tyres

The bike comes with a pair of strong custom wheels and a very durable pair of R19 motorbike tires.

They come with a wide 2.75-inch tread, which offers a lot of traction, but they’re another weighty component, which adds to that 70kg top figure.

Brakes

The Delfrost is fitted with a custom pair of hydraulic disc brakes, which have 203mm rotors.

They are under-gunned for the bike’s weight, and offer nowhere near enough stopping power to deal with the demands of a 70kg machine.

Final Thoughts

We’d advise against this one. It’s very heavy, looks ugly, and has a number of underperforming components.

The Future of High-Speed Electric Biking

As technology continues to evolve, the future of electric biking looks more exciting than ever. Manufacturers are constantly pushing the limits of what’s possible, creating bikes that are not only faster but also smarter, safer, and more efficient. From high-speed commuters to all-terrain beasts, the fastest electric bikes of 2024 are redefining what it means to ride.

Overall Final Thoughts

We hope you enjoyed our guide to the fastest electric bikes in the world.

E-bikes that have tremendous speed are abundant today and things are moving at breakneck speed – with weight going down, motor strengths increasing, and ride overall keeping on getting better.

However, it’s quite a delicate balancing act and it can be very hard to achieve world-leading speeds without compensating in one department or another.

Currently, the fastest electric bike available is the Hi Power Cycles Revolution XX – with a top speed of 120km/h

It’s the fastest ever produced, but there are many companies snapping at HPC’s heels to break that record.

Watch this space as this battle develops, but in the meantime – get out there and fly on one of these speed machines.
